In Morocco,currency is officially the Moroccan Dirham (MAD).Coins that are worth half,one,two,five and ten Dirhams are fare more important for your everyday spending.Banknotes are worth 20,50,100 and 200 Dirhams .

FRIDAYS ARE HOLIDAYS
Fridays take on a whole new meaning in Morocco.While most of the rest of the world is out partying,it’s typically a quieter day through the souks across Morocco.Men traditionally head to the Hammam in advance of Friday’s midday prayers,while women are at home preparing Couscous.After all,preparing the Couscous in true Moroccan style takes many hours.It’s a day when families gather,children have the afternoon off school and businesses may not open until late afternoon.
PAY ATTENTION FROM BEGGARS…MOST OF THEM ARE THIEVES
You are going to be frustrated by beggars asking for money or even cigarettes,especially in the busier cities like Marrakech,Agadir and Casablanca.If you meet one of them just walk away and don’t pay attention to them.

Moroccans eat every meal with bread.They eat it on breakfast,lunch and dinner.It might seem strange at first,but it’s a part of Moroccan traditions and culture.
ASK BEFORE TAKING A PICTURE OF ANYONE IN MOROCCO
In Morocco,photography isn’t welcomed by all,especially in rural areas,where people are more conservative.So that’s why it’s crucial to ask before taking anyone’s pictures.Sometimes,you may have to payfor the photos in some areas like Jamaa El Fna square.
PREPARE YOURSELF FOR SQUAT TOILETS AND ALWAYS CARRY TOILET PAPER
In some rural areas and villages,you will be obliged to go to squat toilets,there’s no solution.Oh Yeah!But fortunately,squat toilets are more effective and better for your health.
For personal hygiene and religious reasons,Moroccan don’t use toilet paper.They use a small shower or tap and bucket instead.So carry toilet paper with you everywhere.
OLD MEDINAS WILL DRIVE YOU CRAZY,BUT MAKE SURE YOU DON’T GET LOST

Along the Atlantic coast,the difference between summer and winter is relatively minimal.In the Sahara desert,summer temperatures often exceed 104 degrees Fohrenheit but may fall to near freezing during winter nights.In terms of rainfull the northern part of Morocco isconsiderably wetter than the arid south.
THE OLD MOROCCAN MAGIC CARPET IS JUST A SCAM
Sellers will try to convince you to buy a carpet with an exorbitant price.Don’t trust them.In normal cases ( Without “The tourist price” concept ) a Moroccan carpet costs between 30$ and 200$.You’d better buy carpets from cooperatives instead of bazaars,which apply some unreasonable prices.
